Fitness & Nutritional Lifestyle with being a Grandma and Mother of Special Needs.
You are never up in age or too busy to feel good, be good and look good. Being a Grandma and a mother of an special needs adult individual for me means to be an advocate, to cheer on, encourage, be supportive, give love, advice and always have open arms for big hugs. It also means to lead by example, have fun, be real & be strong.
I fill my mind & body with things that will enable me to continue to be strong in all those areas as well as for my personal endeavors. I Train for the curve balls that are sure to be thrown my way, because this is life. I train for the precious moments too, because I want to be fully alert and present to enjoy them to the fullest.
My fitness training is first and foremost for the betterment of my health, mind and spirit, I cannot stress this enough!!! Looking good is a perk, not remotely as important to me as the other three. Trust me I've looked phenomenal while suffering from ailments which kept me imprisoned, so no thank you.
Inner, mental and spiritual health it's where it's at, And it is the reason for me training both at the gym and home 5x a week with the inclusion of a proper nutritional lifestyle.
This lifestyle affords me to excel in all other areas, because those positive habits infiltrate in both my personal and professional life . It fuels my ethics, strengths and endurance. A perfect example of this is: avoiding all the processed preservative filled foods along with physical exercise enables me to have more energy to play with my granddaughter, chase her in the park and engage in quality time with her by doing fun activities such as baking yummy healthy recipes and easy kid friendly exercises. Children love to bake and it's an awesome opportunity to educate them on healthy ingredients while doing something fun together, they also love to be active and what better way than to engage with our grandchildren than to be physically active with them. Those are priceless moment between me and my granddaughter.
Another fine example oh how a physically fit and nutritional lifestyle has increased the well being of my loved ones, is my son. My superstar who has autism also happens to suffer from ocd. The moments of heightened ocd can really be challenging for him, recently we have successfully implemented redirecting some of the ocd with physical activity and exercise. Whether it is doing some yoga at home, going out for a walk or a run, has really make a positive difference.
I must say, that if I was not caring for my own mental and physical health these things would probably be tougher to tackle. But, because I have stayed consistent and committed to my own fitness and wellbeing, it is surely carrying on to my son, and his own willingness to participate in a physically active life. I’m so proud of my super star.
The benefits and rewards of living a nutritionally healthy and fitness related lifestyle has surpass anything I would have imagined and more. And those are just a few examples, in a future post I will go into how it has enhanced my professional life as well.
A uniformed exercise and eating nutritiously will without a doubt seep into every other area of your life, it will enhance the quality of your existence and those around you.
Things that you never thought possible will come to fruition, remarkable results will begin to unravel right before your eyes.
